The Design Response is an urban and land planning design firm founded in 2001 that specializes in collaborative strategic thinking, pragmatic placemaking site design, and effective project management of development projects through complex regulatory approval processes.

Our consultant role is to perform as your strategic sounding board and to assist with the creation of value that is your goal. We are proficient at the identification and minimization of project risks while always remaining aware of opportunities to maximize project rewards.

We frequently serve as both the right arm of the client in coordinating the project’s consultant team and as the harbor pilot for the regulatory process that is to be navigated.

Our designs are strong, buildable, and responsive to the physical and social environment. From realistic preliminary concept plans to placemaking site design details, we articulate, illustrate, and deliver.
